The Good, the Bad, the Weird: Puerto Rico

The Good
– Amazing historical sites including an UNESCO World Heritage Site
– Beautiful natural spots including the only rainforest in the US Forest Service and three bioluminescence bays
– Sunny weather with balmy ocean breezes
– For US citizens, no passport requirement and no currency exchange

The Bad
– No efficient public transportation system
– Inflated prices (gas was $5.69 per gallon!)
– Hot and humid

The Weird
– Seeing Payless Shoe Source, Marshall’s, and other chain stores beneath the fading facades of Old San Juan’s historic buildings
– No mosquitoes (the only mosquitoes I saw were in my hostel!)
